I respond analytically and playfully to my current situation and the visually loaded environment, using this to create whimsical idiosyncratic symbols. I am drawn to using the formal language of commercial and information graphics and combine this interest with autobiographical themes to create works that look impersonal or functional, yet have a highly personal aspect to them. The result is an odd and incongruous mixing of metaphors drawn from my experience and the prolific graphics surrounding me. I enjoy creating wry humour in the work, it is the result of this concoction.
